Connecticut Electric products help in the gulf ~ 6/17/2010

Connecticut Electric Inc. is proud to be a part of the efforts to
help the control and containment of spilled oil in the gulf coast.
The company recently shipped over 400 AquaLantern® buoys to
BP for the purpose of marking the hundreds of miles of booms
that are being used to control the spilled oil at the ocean’s
surface and prevent the oil from entering marshlands and other
sensitive ecological and environmental areas.

AquaLantern buoys are being used to help protect these containment devices.

Many of the booms are in active gulf coast shipping lanes and
are inadvertently being damaged by ships traveling to and
from gulf ports. AquaLantern® buoys are helping light the way
especially at night when the booms are more difficult to see.
While 400 buoys will only mark a small portion of the booms
that are currently in danger of being damaged, Connecticut
Electric is ramping up production of the AquaLantern® buoys
and is dedicated to providing BP with additional buoys as
quickly as possible.
